Social Development

The First Nations are assisted and advised in the delivery of their Social Assistance programs.  Advisory services are also provided in the areas of Child care and Adult Care program development. The team leads and implements research and analysis on new initiatives and announcements of policy changes by the various levels of government.

The Social Development team monitors the income assistance program, including its primary components: Basic Needs, In-Home Care, Special Needs, Burials and the Work Opportunity Program.  The Social Development team assists with reporting requirements and administering funding.  In addition, the team can advocate on behalf of the First Nations and clients with ISC and other agencies.
